Signwave is a tool for staff who manage digital signage. This page explains what the app handles and where it goes.
What the app uses
- Your sign-in. Your organization name, email and password are sent to your organization's Signwave server to sign you in, and are kept in the device keychain so you stay signed in.
- Signage data. The app loads the list of signs you are allowed to see, their status and settings, and screenshots of what they are showing, from your organization's Signwave server.
- Commands. When you press a control, the command and the account that sent it are recorded by your organization's Signwave server.
- Location, if you allow it. The app can detect that you have arrived at a property so it can switch to the right organization and point you to nearby signs. If you allow location in the background, this also works while the app is closed, to automatically switch organizations. Your location is used on your device and is not sent to Signwave. This is optional and can be turned off in Settings.
- Camera, if you allow it. The camera is used to capture digital signage locations for reference.
- Photos, if you choose one. A photo you pick or take for a sign is uploaded to your organization's Signwave server.
- Notifications, if you allow them. The app can notify you of controllable signs nearby. This can be turned off in Settings.
What the app does not do
- It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking tools.
- It does not share data between organizations. Each organization has its own server and its own sign-in.
Who holds the data
Data about signs, accounts and commands is held by the Signwave service for your organization. Questions about that data, including requests to correct or remove an account, go to your organization's Signwave administrator.
Removing data from your device
Logging out of an organization in the app removes its saved sign-in from the device. Deleting the app removes the rest.
